Abstract:
The article presents cognitive analysis of seventy-nine music metaphors, used to describe the surrounding world (namely: nature, people and objects) in the poetry of H.W. Longfellow. The research is based on the theory of metaphorical modeling, which makes it possible to present the material in a condensed and accessible form as well as to discern the key concepts in H.W. Longfellow’s mental space.
