Abstract:
The article deals with acoustic peculiarities of Swiss vowels articulation in standard German which were registered in the course of experimental phonetic research. The formant structure of the monophthongs was analyzed on the basis of anthropometric differences among speakers. The differences of phonetic features of phonemes are also determined by gender peculiarities of speech.
