Abstract:
The article examines various aspects and diverse manifestations of daily life and morals in provincial Russia in the 19th – early 20th сс, based on examples from Nizhny Novgorod periodicals of that time, establishing the interdependence of “lifestyles” and “morals”: morals shape lifestyle / morals are shaped by lifestyles; lifestyles affect morals / morals determine lifestyles.
