THE STRUCTURE AND CONTENT OF EMOTIONAL COMPETENCY

Abstract:

The article gives an overview of psychological and linguistic literature on the subject of “affective competency” and, building on the existing data and the emotional conceptual approach, proposes a conceptual model of emotional competency in foreign language teaching, relating it to other competencies (communicative, linguistic, pragmatic, social and cultural, and cognitive) and identifying key elements of its structure.
