Author’s name:

Raviddin Shamilov

Abstract:

The article attempts to set up a typology of communicative situations of specialized translation with the translation initiator as its key criterion. In describing various communicative situations, the author pays particular attention to the key components of the initiator’s activity, namely: the initiator’s need, motive, and goal, which a translator should always take into consideration when defining the purpose and goal of translation in each single communicative situation, in order to ensure the success of the translation activity.
