Abstract:

In honor of the 230th anniversary of N.I. Grech, a famous 19th century Russian publisher, writer, and journalist, the article examines one of his travelogues and its impact on its contemporary socio-cultural environment, demonstrating the mutual penetration of different cultures and languages and describing Grech’s still relevant approach to the perception of foreign cultures.
