Abstract:
Alan Lelchuk‟s novel Searching for Wallenberg is an example of a biographical literary experiment which combines a familiar autobiographical approach with the meta-novel principle. A. Lelchuk creates a novel about the making of a docu-novel about the life of a real historical figure Raoul Wallenberg, utilizing a narrator and introducing a writer as the novel‟s protagonist. The article looks at the character of historian and writer Emmanuel Gellerman, analysing his artistic thinking and creative method which help him weave reality and fiction in his own piece of work.
