Abstract:
The article focuses on the concept “linguistic security” as defined and interpreted in the Regulations on the Institute of Linguistic Security by the Collective Security Treaty Organization. It examines a number of aspects of linguistic security including the task of maintaining the international status of the Russian language while promoting national identity and providing conditions for co-existence of different languages. Special attention is given to the role of linguistic universities in forming the system of values of young people with regard to their native and foreign languages.
