INCREASING EFFICIENCY OF INDEPENDENT VOCABULARY ACQUISITION AT A NON-LINGUISTIC UNIVERSITY

Abstract:

The article focuses on non-linguistic students’ independent work on expanding their vocabulary. The authors present and compare the results of the survey, conducted among first-year law students at the beginning and at the end of the academic year, evaluate students’ ability to acquire significant amounts of vocabulary, describe a number of memorization techniques which students typically resort to, and, finally, provide a number of other techniques which simplify vocabulary memorization.
