Abstract:
Combinatorial semantics promotes detailed study of the nature of compatibility of lexical units and stylistically significant aberrations. The purpose of this article is to show the applicability of the concept and methodology of combinatory semantics to the semantic analysis of English language poetry and, as an example, to give a combinatory and semantic analysis of two poems by American poets of the 19-20th centuries.
