MINIMALIST PRINCIPLES IN RAYMOND CARVER’S SHORT STORIES “CHEF’S HOUSE” AND “FEATHERS

Abstract:

This article provides a brief introduction to minimalism, an art movement which was especially popular in the second half of the 20th century, providing its key  theoretical ideas and singling out its main representatives. The author then focuses on the main aesthetic principles of literary minimalism and looks at the  means of their embodiment in Raymond Carver’s short stories “Chef’ s House” and “Feathers.”
