Abstract:

The author formulates the main didactic principles of vocational-oriented foreign language instruction in universities run by the Russian Ministry of Internal  Affairs, which are aimed at developing students’ linguistic-cultural independence as an indicator of their linguistic-cultural competence. These principles take into  account the professional orientation and the educational and service activities of cadets enrolled in higher education institutions run by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
