Examining Gender Stereotypes in the Literary Discourse of E. G. Vodolazkin

Abstract:

The objective of this article is to examine gender stereotypes reconstructed by E. G. Vodolazkin in his literary discourse. The relevance of this study is enchanced by the socio-cultural and political significance of issues related to gender. This study investigates the stereotypes that translate the value system of the Russian people, in particular, the gender as-pects of mentality. The author describes the specifics of implementing masculinity/femininity stereotypes in literary discourse, transformation of basic gender concepts within the axiologi-cal paradigm, as well as criteria for stereotypification. The results obtained can contribute to the expansion of scientific ideas in the field of genderology and linguoculturology.
