RELATIVE AUTHENTICITY OF SPEECH IN TEACHING AND LEARNING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

Abstract:

The article presents various aspects of the problem of relative authenticity of student speech, viewing it as a mandatory component of foreign speech production at a linguistic college. Relative speech authenticity is examined in different spheres of activity such as student research, current and final assessment of student exam presentation, and as a prerequisite for success in taking authentic employment-related tests in the future. The article discusses several problem areas in realizing the authenticity component in teaching and learning foreign languages and offers a number of ways for resolving them.
