Abstract:
The paper analyzes the functions of axiological vocabulary in the texts of German Christian sermons and its role in rendering the didactic dimension of this type of texts. The research focuses on sermons by Pope Benedict XVI and, particularly, on antithesis as a stylistic device that employs axiological vocabulary.
