Abstract:
The article focuses on euphemisms in contemporary political discourse, looking at key mean of verbalization of euphemisation strategies in contemporary English-language political discourse and analyzing linguistic mechanisms of political manipulation carried out through euphemisms. The author examines political euphemisms in terms of language mechanisms operating the processes of manipulation, the degree of distortion of objective reality, and the pragmatic effect of certain euphemistic substitutions.
