Abstract:

The main goal of teaching foreign language speech to preschoolers is to develop children’s ability to communicate in a foreign language. The article examines the potential of integrating a foreign language into children’s activities in order to create a natural motivation for communication in the language by using innate mechanisms of language proficiency that are inherent in preschool children. The authors review and test new approaches related to integrating a foreign language into various types of children’s activities on the basis of enriching the content of these activities and making them more developmental and creative. Such integration provides an opportunity for preschoolers to master a foreign language in a constantly changing communication environment and fosters their speech competence, both in the foreign language they are learning and in their native language.
