Abstract:
The article studies the issue of reception of the Ancient heritage in the work of Nikolai I. Kareev and his concept of history, based on modern classifications of various types of reception. The author analyzes Nikolai I. Kareev’s papers on the philosophy of history, published in the early 20th century, and concludes that the philosopher viewed the reception of the Ancient tradition as a revival of Europe’s cultural foundations.
