Abstract:
The article examines the contents and linguistic characteristics of sermons as a genre within the current religious Russian Orthodox discourse, looking particularly at how specific religion-motivated influence of the preacher upon his addressees is realized on both conceptual and linguistic levels, and how the preacher’s statements are correlated with sacred values and dogmas.
