Abstract:
The article deals with Russian verbs of those modes of action which combine excessive intensity and duration of action with negative consequences. The author describes the functioning of these verbs in fictional texts, focusing on the contextual and situational conditions of their realization, and makes a number of conclusions regarding the peculiarities of the Russian vision of the world, the Russian character and outlook.
