Abstract:
The article discusses the types of machine translation (machine, statistical, hybrid, and neural) and their features in diachronic perspective. Since rapidly evolving technologies are making it possible to perform automated audiovisual translation, the author has decided to compare audiovisual translation of a film done by human translators and by neural machine translation and to analyse the respective translations in terms of grammatical and lexical features of English and Russian. In the conclusion, the article presents prospects for further development of machine. translation
