This article looks at the linguistic representation of the linguocultural personality type “video blogger” in the video blog genre of modern English-language media discourse It identifies a number of communicative strategies used by the “video blogger” linguocultural personality type, namely: the communicative strategy of demonstrating competence, the regulatory-influencing communicative strategy, the emotive communicative strategy, and the communicative strategy of attracting and holding attention, and examines the linguistic means used by English-language bloggers in communicating with the audience when implementing these strategies. The author concludes that each of the identified communication strategies is implemented by video bloggers through the use of certain linguistic means, such as formal vocabulary, special terminology, affirmative and imperative sentences, disjunctive questions, conditional sentences, expressive means and stylistic devices (repetitions, parallel constructions, exclamations, emotionally charged vocabulary, colloquial vocabulary, comparisons, metaphors, irony, idiomatic expressions, etc.).
