Abstract:

The article explores the multicultural space of London as it is represented in the novel “White Teeth” by the English writer Zadie Smith, and, on a larger scale, in the contemporary British postcolonial fiction. of the London text. Alongside the typical components of the London text, the authors single out its new features, demonstrating the evolving tradition of London’s literary descriptions, and list the distinctive features of the novel’s genre, which help explain its popularity with the English reader.
