The article deals with the cognitive approach to the research of creole languages and the issue of interaction of worldviews in the creolization process. The article researches the interaction of superstrate and substrate worldviews in kinship terms of Australian Kriol. According to the research, the contact nature of Australian Kriol kinship terms is revealed in generalization of meaning, tending to include all relatives from the family group; in specification of meaning regarding relatives on the father’s or the mother’s side; and in using substrate and superstrate synonyms.
