THE COGNITIVE PROCESS OF TEXT RECEPTION: THE PROBLEM OF MODELING

Abstract:

The article considers the problem of cognitive modeling for text understanding and interpretation, which are seen as discrete processes. It identifies cause-and-effect relations in the text as the basis for the step-by-step algorithm of the cognitive model, with proposition functioning as the foundation for modeling. The article defines seven levels of the recipient’s cognitive model, connecting Levels 3-7 with inferential processes.
