METHODOLOGICAL TYPOLOGY OF KNOWLEDGE IN ACQUIRING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE WORLD PICTURE

Abstract:

The article seeks to develop a methodological typology of knowledge in acquiring a foreign language world picture, which is included in foreign language  education. It proposes key criteria for developing such a typology, namely: the content aspect of knowledge, the functional aspect of knowledge, and potential  difficulties in acquiring knowledge in the process of foreign language education. The proposed typology effectively solves the problem of selecting content for  foreign language courses, as well as that of evaluating the quality of an individual’s knowledge of a specific foreign language world picture.
