OBJECTIVES AND CONTENT OF TEACHING EMOTIVE VOCABULARY IN SECONDARY SCHOOLS WITH ADVANCED LANGUAGE PROGRAMS

Abstract:

The article deals with goals, objectives, and content of teaching emotive vocabulary in schools with advanced language programs. Since the main strategic goal of teaching emotive communication – namely, emotive competence – cannot be fully achieved within the parameters of secondary education, emphasis is laid on teaching the relevant vocabulary. The author examines the content of foreign language teaching from the point of view of linguistics of emotions and stresses the importance of including emotive texts and emotive vocabulary as means of expressing emotional states.
