Abstract:
The paper touches upon some pragmatic aspects of translingual contacts in the context of globalization. It analyses instances of changes in the communicative norms of the Russian language under the influence of speaking norms and practices of the English language. It also presents the results of an on-line survey, designed to find out how the new norms are introduced into the Russian communicative space, and looks at ideological aspects of translingual practices.
