AUTOFICTION IN DANIEL DEFOE’S NOVELS

Abstract:

The article looks at autofiction in the literary works by Daniel Defoe, focusing on the role of the author in educational fiction. By describing autobiographical details and studying the narrator’s personality, the paper attempts to describe the implied author of the Enlightenment and concludes that the term “broad autofiction” can be applied to Defoe’s literary method.
