Abstract:
Since the Tokyo dialect developed from dialects of Eastern Japan with constant influences from the dialect of Kyoto, which was the capital of Japan until the 20th century, there are numerous parallels between the dialect of Tokyo and the dialects of the regions of Kanto and Tohoku. The article outlines historical connections between these dialects and studies the peculiarities of their interaction in present-day Japan.
