Abstract:

The article discusses the peculiarities of distinctive Enlightenment concepts in the two-part novel Incarceron by British author Catherine Fisher. In her novel, С. Fisher describes an alternative 18th century, reconstructed on the basis of such cultural concepts as “gallantry” and “theatricality”.
