MOBILE LEARNING AND KEY SKILLS OF UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

Abstract:

Finding employment has always been a problem for university graduates with no work experience. Therefore, since labor market demands are changing faster than academic programs, students try to develop new skills required by employers. In this situation, mobile devices allow undergraduates to compensate for the lack of necessary experience and to improve their competence through self-training using available Internet sources (mobile-learning). The flip side of this new development lies in potential sensory and cognitive overload for students who, due to immaturity, are not always able to accurately assess quality and authenticity of available courses and materials. The task of the teacher is to monitor, adjust, and coordinate the process of undergraduates’ independent work.
