Abstract:
The articles looks into issues related to the functioning of cognitive mechanisms in simultaneous interpretation. The authors provide an analytical literature review and propose their understanding of the term “cognitive mechanism,” both in general and in relation to simultaneous interpretation. They proceed to identify a number of cognitive mechanisms utilized by simultaneous interpreters in their professional activity, and to describe the structure of said mechanisms.
