Abstract:
The paper presents a rationale for bringing together various specialists to provide effective correctional care for children who have experienced violence and abuse. It lists professionals that ideally should be part of an interdisciplinary support team providing assistance to child victims of violence; describes roles of various professionals on such a team, and identifies the team’s general characteristics. The article also presents a specially designed diagnostic questionnaire, used to identify characteristics of an interdisciplinary team that would effectively serve young abuse victims.
