Abstract:
As a social mechanism of ensuring intergenerational continuity, tradition gains special currency in the time of globalization, when every ethnic group tries to preserve its unique culture and heritage. International mass media, the Internet, and increasing migration have changed the nature of cross-cultural communication, contributing to rapid changes in existing cultural traditions and, thus, often breaking the intergenerational continuity of ethnic communities.
