Abstract:

The article discusses issues of connotation in syntax, looking specifically at the predicate and its co-meanings within the paradigm of grammatical precedence. The author defines the term “connotative predicate” as a syntactic precedent unit, which expresses derivative grammatical and supplementary pragmatic meanings.
