Abstract:
The article reviews some issues related to the development of professional meta-competence in the process of foreign language teaching at linguistic universities. The function of this meta-competence is to coordinate and streamline students’ knowledge, abilities, and personal qualities into productive professional self-development, and the description of its levels is based on the model of the secondary language personality.
