Abstract:

The article discusses authorized translations of Joseph Brodsky’s poems from the A Part of Speech cycle, examining it as an experimental platform for the poet to form his basic principles of Russian-English self-translation and as a source of self-commentary which enables researchers to make conclusions about the author’s vision of the layers of meaning in the original text.
