Abstract:
The article discusses the principles of developing intercultural listening skills of undergraduate language majors by using podcasts as a relevant source of authentic information. The authors stipulate that such podcasts should be selected on the basis of both general and specific methodological principles and integrated into the process of teaching in accordance with the goals and content of the university curriculum. They conclude that working with authentic podcasts – in a well-organized and methodologically sound manner – may contribute to the development of intercultural listening skills as well as general intercultural intelligence.
