Abstract:

This article addresses a critical challenge in training modern teachers capable of educating and nurturing the next generation as responsible citizens and patriots. The study highlights contradictions in the professional and personal training of future teachers, particularly the tension between state policy demands to instill value priorities in young people and the absence of a systematic program to achieve this goal. The paper clarifies the concept of “a future teacher’s worldview,” defined as a structured system of views and beliefs guiding their professional and educational activities, particularly in shaping and developing modern youth. The worldview is presented as a multifaceted construct consisting of three essential components that are pivotal for the development of a young teacher’s perspectives and beliefs. The article emphasizes the strategic importance of cultivating students’ worldviews during their years at the university, demonstrating that a teacher’s worldview significantly shapes their approach to key societal issues and impacts the quality of their teaching, their effectiveness, and professional relevance. Examples of assessing students’ attitudes toward concepts such as “homeland,” “fatherland,” and “patriotism” illustrate the challenges of fostering spiritual and moral development in future teachers, who themselves reflect the concerns of contemporary youth. Finally, the study proposes a comprehensive program for developing future teachers’ spiritual, moral, and civic values, highlighting the interdependence of the components of their worldview. Systematic implementation of such a program contributes to the formation of value-based orientations in professional and personal development, equipping teachers to educate and guide students effectively in a modern educational environment.
