Abstract:
The article applies a comprehensive integrative paradigm to content selection for teaching reading in a foreign language. It demonstrates the importance of an integrated approach to organizing the process of teaching reading to students majoring in linguistics and education. The author lists and describes principles and criteria for choosing texts for reading which are professionally oriented and thus serve as a means of increasing motivation for foreign language acquisition.
